Fleet Update: 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
Staffers note an inability to find the sideview-mirror adjustment switch at night, though adjacent switches are all nicely illuminated.
Mitsubishi's Future Car Plans, Confirmed

Mitsubishi will kill the Eclipse and Galant models to concentrate on B- and C-segment models, including the Lancer, Outlander Sport, and a lineup likely to be based largely on the Colt, including a small crossover. We first revealed the product plan, sort of, a year ago in April 2010 "Trend."
Quick Test: 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
Though the current generation Mitsubishi Eclipse bowed back in 2006, the Eclipse's spaceship styling has aged well. Our test Eclipse has been Botoxed with a body kit that makes it appear lower and wider, but even without the add-ons the Eclipse has an aggressive look, its gaping maw offset by fluid curves and a backside rounder than the Death Star.
2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT-P Review
No matter how hard I try, I can't help comparing today's Eclipse to the first-generation model. The 1990 Eclipse was light, cheap, fast and easily distinguished itself from the herd of affordable sports coupes during that era.
An eclipse of the Sun (or solar eclipse) only occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and Sun. As such, the eclipse takes place once every four years. The car with distinctive personality, oomph, and superior inner comfort to put the smile in all the right places is the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, an eclipse waiting to happen every time you go for a drive. The fourth generation Eclipse is also priced right so you don’t have to donate an arm to drive a sports machine.
Have you ever wondered about the differences in the tastes of men and women when it comes to cars? Clearly, men prefer cars that look tough and masculine and ooze power while women prefer cars that are “cute” and stylish, right? Well, that’s true to a certain extent, according to a recent study on car ownership between the sexes. However, what may be surprising to some is that there are areas of common interest between men and women and that both actually share a liking for t...
The 24th of April for this year marked the launching of the Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) multi-media national advertising campaign. This campaign is focused primarily on supporting and marketing the all-new 2007 Eclipse Spyder.
Comparison: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe vs 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse vs 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe
Two decades ago, one couldn't utter the words "front-wheel drive" and "sport coupe" without generating a few snickers from the auto snobs.
Mitsubishi's Future Car Plans Taking Shape

Mitsubishi, which sold just 54,000 vehicles in the U.S. last year, is planning a resurgence starting with the new b-segment Outlander Sport that is set to make its debut as the ASX at the upcoming 2010 Geneva auto show. The new direction is to capture niches, especially in the smaller B- and C-segments, including the i-MiEV pure electric hatchback, which is set to go on sale in the fall of 2011.
Long Term Verdict: 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
The sporty-coupe market is fickle and suffers from what we call the 1-2-Out Syndrome: A new two-door 2+2 shows up, sells well for two years, then fades fast. Mitsubishi has had better than average luck with its Eclipse. It's enjoyed relatively solid sales over more than a decade and a half and a starring role with the "Fast and Furious" crowd. A new Eclipse is important to the brand, a notion that helped earn this fourth-gen model a year in the MT garage.
As per the Mitsubishi Lancer, despite the fact that it has been in the market for ages already, it is still one of the most sought after vehicles. And its mother company has made sure that they restyle and refresh this vehicle.
Follow-Up Test: 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

It's 57 degrees and the fog is rolling in off the Pacific, but we're not about to go top up in our 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT. We crank the heat, fire up the seat heaters and pull on a dorky hat, because that's what you do with a convertible: You live life out in the open.

New concept sport car from German car producer E-Wolf. E-Wolf unveils an EV supercar that’s so sporty. With a top speed of 155 miles per hour and a 0-60 acceleration that clocks in under four seconds, it has the performance to match its Italian playboy good looks, and its all-wheel drive, where each wheel is powered by an independent electric motor, should be able to keep all 2,000 pounds of it on the road. The Ford F650 is a super truck, appeared in 2000. The F650 is designed as a heavy hauler and is often used for towing or as a small dump truck. It is humongous! Its weight is about 160 tons, height is 3.5 meters – like a one-floor house! But then again, with a price tag of $60,000 up to infinity, it’s not like the standard home owner will possess one anyway.

Car News Test DrivesBefore you and me see new models of cars or modifications of old one, they pass through the stricked control in laboratories, garages, on streets and platforms. Everything thing is called test drives. There cars are tested on a great number of points – power, safety, control, easiness of driving, protect from damages and other features. Tests can be made not only for the whole car, but for its separate parts also – wheels, air bags, hardness of base, suitiness of wheels to the type of road, protect from temperature and many others. For each, even smallest detail, scientists have couple of test.
In special laboratories techniques create situations and observe how car will show itself. How will these situations will influence passengers and driver.
It helps producers to identify all problems and disadvantages due to correct them before mass production. In case of low quality test drives, innocent people can be harmed.
While cars are tested instead of passengers, soft manikins are used. Numerous appliances are based on them, and at the moment of artificial crash it will memorize the force of hit, speed, possible damage on other characteristics, needed to be clarified.
When parts are tested they may be separated from the car structure or be on their place. These test also show what material is better to be used on this or those detail, how long will it serve and how it should be treated.
Kia Rio B-Spec First Drive
As I came up fast over the crest just before the sharp right-hander, I felt the race car begin to understeer away from me. "No worries," I thought, forgetting what exactly I was driving, "I'll just get on the power and get it straightened out." A tank-slapper later I was facing the other direction on the edge of the grass. I had just spun out on my first lap ever in a race car. A front-drive Kia Rio B-Spec race car, at that.
