Nissan Australia has released the updated 2010 Nissan X-Trail soft-roader. It comes with styling changes, engine revisions which provide improved fuel economy and more equipment and comfort offered inside. There’s a price drop for most variants, too.

The new Nissan X-Trail has received obvious styling changes to the front bumper bar and headlight design, incorporating clearer more powerful Xenon bulbs in the Ti petrol and TL diesel models. LEDs give a modern touch to the taillight cluster as well.

Inside, the car gets a Bluetooth phone connectivity system, keyless start/stop, automatic rain-sensor wipers, a larger instrument cluster with clearer dials and a heater/cooler glove box. There’s also more knee room on offer compared to the existing and previous model as well as an adjustable telescopic steering column.

Underneath the car and inside the engine compartment, the new X-Trail now comes with Advanced Hill Descent Control for auto and CVT models. The engine received tweaks which see the fuel consumption figures drop from 9.4L per 100km to 9.1, using the same 2.5-litre, 125kW/226Nm four-cylinder engine. The 2.0-litre diesel engine also sees fuel economy figures drop from 8.1L/100km to 7.4L/100km.

The new Nissan X-Trail will be arriving in dealerships around the country during the course of this month. Prices and price changes are as follows:
